In 1971, seventeen-year-old John Bell began his paddle-making career as an employee of North Country Paddle Company in Millbrook, Ontario. Two years later, John built a small hop in Millbrook where he began manufacturing conventional paddles. In 1991, a majestic Red-tailed Hawk swept past John and his wife Leslie as they were discussing the idea of a name change. John decided that a Red-tail Hawk would be the perfect symbol of excellence to represent his craft and the Redtail Paddle Company was born. John approached renowned Port Hope artist John Doherty and asked him to design a logo for his new company. The Redtail Paddle Company incorporated the following year with a spectacular logo and a new business vision. Redtail Paddle Company is located in Campbellford, Ontario. In addition to manufacturing quality handcrafted conventional paddles that have made his business famous, he developed a line of custom high performance paddles to meet the demands of sport canoeists. Today, Redtail paddles are renowned for their beauty, functionality, and craftsmanship. The company focuses on supplying and servicing customers in North America and Europe with quality, Canadian handcrafted paddles backed by excellent customer service. Redtail Paddle Company also specializes in commemorative paddles which are perfect for marking special occasions such as retirements, awards, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, etc. Our client list includes major corporations, businesses, resorts, educational facilities, and individuals.
